What MCP is, in plain words
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard for connecting AI assistants to tools and data. Think of it as a universal plug: one connection, and any assistant that speaks MCP can use it.
- Collect
- Store
- Use
- Activate
How it works, without the technical part
The warehouse gets an MCP connection. Your AI assistant is given that connection. When you ask a question, the assistant decides which data it needs, asks the warehouse, and answers from what comes back.
What keeps it safe
One connection per client, so an assistant only sees the client you connected it to. Read-only, so it can analyse but never change data, tracking or ad accounts. The data stays in the client’s project; the assistant queries it, it does not copy it.
Key takeaways
- MCP is a standard plug between AI assistants and data.
- One connection per client, read-only.
- The data stays where it is.
For your marketing agency
You do not need to understand the protocol to use it. You need to know that it is scoped per client and read-only, because that is what your client will ask.
